Mobily 20th Anniversary – Three-City Touring Sky Show, Saudi Arabia
(Jan – Feb 26)
As Project Lead for M-is, I was responsible for overseeing the end-to-end production and delivery of Mobily’s 20th Anniversary Sky Show, a technically complex, large-scale touring production across Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam.
My role encompassed overall production leadership, technical coordination, logistics, crew management, scheduling, stakeholder liaison and health and safety compliance. I led the coordination of specialist teams covering crane operations, rigging, LED technology, audio, power and show control, ensuring consistent delivery across all three cities within an intensive 17-day touring schedule, including build, live performances, dismantling and relocation.
The centrepiece of the project was a spectacular 30m-wide by 14m-high LED screen, weighing over nine tonnes and suspended approximately 60 metres above the ground between two 200-tonne cranes. The installation delivered an immersive, synchronised audiovisual experience celebrating Mobily’s 20 year journey, with two days of live performances in each city.
The project demanded meticulous engineering, complex lifting operations, continuous wind monitoring and precise coordination between multiple technical disciplines. Despite demanding schedules, challenging logistics and the complexities of relocating such a substantial installation between cities, the tour was delivered successfully, with performances running to schedule and maintaining high standards of technical execution and safety.
